TOP 9 STREET DRINKING IN VIETNAM

Live like Vietnamese people: get up early at 5 am, do some exercise around the park, eat a bowl of “pho” for breakfast and then hang out on the sidewalk with a drink to moisturize your dry throat. What kind of drink do the locals like to drink? Which one of our suggestions would you choose?

1. Chè nóng – Hot tea:

We can see this type of tea in Northern Vietnam, especially in Hanoi. The image of an old lady in the past holding a fan while chewing red betel with her black teeth, sitting on a stall on one of those small wooden stools, holding in one had a hot teapot and in the other a tobacco pipe, this is a daily scene that you will see on every corner. This scene always goes through the heart of each traveler, visitors when they come here. Enjoying a cup of hot tea (made of lotus or jasmine), then smoking a pipe while chatting with friends in part of the daily routine in Hanoi. How about you? It would be interesting to try it, wouldn’t it?

2. Trà đá – Iced tea:

In the south of Vietnam, you can order “Trà đá!” everywhere, in a restaurant, in an ice-cream shop, in a bakery, a coffee shop, well pretty much everywhere. Ice-tea is an essential drink for locals, many locals drink more ice tea than water. The reason for drinking ice-tea is as simple as the character of local people from the south, because it is fresh, served fast, cheap (or free), and quickly quenches thirst.

3. Nước mía – Sugar cane juice:

Listening patiently to the sound produced when the sugar cane is pressed in press-machine on a sunny summer afternoon, this will bring you a sense of cheerfulness while enjoying this popular typical juice. Aside from its flavor, sugar cane juice is an excellent juice for health because of its natural sweetness. It provides not only the necessary energy, but also prevents certain diseases such as: kidney stones, diabetes, jaundice, flu…

4. Cà phê – coffee :

You can easily find a small cup of hot black coffee in Hanoi or large glass of ided milk-coffee in Saigon, every day this beverage appears in the life of the locals. A rendezvous, a team exercise, a business exchange, a date for couple, we always have them in a coffee shop. That’s why, coffee shops are all over the place in every city! Coffee can be enjoyed anywhere, in a park, on a stool, on the side walk, or simply taken (take-away) against a wall. Coffee is one of the reason why Vietnam is so energetic!

5. Soy milk :

In addition to soy milk, you can also find peanut milk or green bean milk in carriages on the sidewalk, especially in the morning. A glass of hot or iced soy milk, according to your desire. Do not hesitate to ask to take away these drinks if you want!

6. Salted lemon:

Almost all street vendors have salted lemon drinks in their trolley. This type of juice helps refreshing your body after hours of walking under the sun. And you know what? Drinking lemon is one of the best ways to lose weight. Try it with some ice, a little sugar, a little water, the salted lemon drink will excite your senses!

7. Sinh Tố - Fruit Smoothies:

If you want to have a beautiful skin, fruit smoothies will give you all. There are many types of “sinh tố” to enjoy and taste. We recommend you the mixed coconut with peanuts or the sapodilla with coffee, or even the mixed avocado with milk, the last one is a the locals favorite!

8. Rau má, dắp cá, and other juice made from roots or leaves:

After having tasted the popular drinks in our country, do not hesitate to try some new-strange drinks made from plants This type of drink may be a little difficult to drink at the beginning because you are not used to the taste. But it is very healthy, so why shouldn’t you try it!

9.The last drink !!!!

We recommend is of course mineral water. Water is the best choice for our body and is essential in a hot country such as ours.

And be careful! do not enjoy all these drinks in one day, otherwise your stomach will be upset with you !! Cheers !!!
