What will you do during your trip?
During the trip, you will have the opportunity to taste local delicacies, to visit cultural sites such as temples, pagodas and local markets. You will discover some ethnic villages with who you will have warm encounters, you will also visit several fabrics of local handicraft or specialities (whiskey, printing, weaving, etc.) and you will get on board a small boat to enjoy the natural scenery of Ninh Binh.

DAY 1 : YOUR CITY flight LUANG PRABANG

Departure at your own expense from the airport of your choice; Registration and formalities for the flight to Luang Prabang. Dinner and night on board.

DAY 2 : LUANG PRABANG

At your arrival to Luang Prabang airport you will be welcomed by your English speaking tour-guide and transfered to the city.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Your visit will start with Wat Xienthong temple, then discover Wat Aham and Wat Aham temples, the two oldest temple in town. Following by the stupa Melon located down Phousi Mount, emblematic hill of the town where you will enjoy sunset and visit the temple on the top. Visit the night market which is full of crafts objects of the region.
Dinner at local restaurant. Night at hotel.

DAY 3 : LUANG PRABANG / PAK OU / LUANG PRABANG

Walk around in a local market full of regional products and visit the former Royal Palace, Wat Wat and Longkhoun Chomphet temples in Luang Prabang.
The day is devoted to the visit of Pak Ou sacred caves. Embarking on a boat heading to the caves located 32 km upstream, on the way you will stop at a village which produce local whiskey. You will observe the distillation of Lao Lau, local rice alcohol.
Pursuit of the cruise and arrival to the caves, holding more than a thousand images of Buddha. 
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Way back to Luang Prabang by road with a stop at the village of Ban Xangkhong known for its weaving workshop and then stop in Mulberry village specialized in printing.
Dinner in a restaurant in town. Night at hotel.

DAY 4 : LUANG PRABANG / KUANG SI / LUANG PRABANG

Very early in the morning head to the city center to watch the Buddhist monks collect offerings from local people. After the ceremony, transfer to your hotel for the breakfast.
Road to the Kuang Si Waterfalls through the authentic Laotian countryside with a stop at the village of Ban Naouan populated by Hmong ethnic minority. Lunch at local restaurant near the falls.
Free time to admire the beautiful waterfalls and take a swim in the natural pool formed by the falls. At the end of the afternoon way back to Luang Prabang.

DAY 5 : LUANG PRABANG flight to HANOI

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi.
At the airport you will be welcomed by your English speaking guide and transfered to the city to do some sightseeing around Ba Dinh square, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum from outside, the one pillar Pagoda famous for its original construction entirely in teak emerging from a pound.
Late afternoon walking tour around the old quarter, the colonial style Operal, the Ly Thai To park and its imposing bronze statue of the Vietnamese king. Rickshaw tour around the old quarter, you will dive into the craziness of Hanoian traffic, perfect way to get to know the city better and the daily life of its inhabitants. Discover Hoan Kiem lake, the city’s landmark holding the Ngoc Son temple and the The Huc Bridge.
This tour will end in a magnificent colonial style house where you will be enjoying a welcome dinner. Night at the hotel.

DAY 6 : HANOI / NINH BINH / HANOI

Road to Ninh Binh, also known as the “Halong Bay on land”. Beautiful countryside road where authentic life can be observed. Boarding on a small boat to a stroll in the magnificent rice fields.
The chosen site is “Thung Nang“, still preserved and not as visited as other sites in the area. Bike ride or walk on the way to the village with superb karstic mountains landscapes. Lunch during the excursion.
Road back to Hanoi. Dinner in a restaurant in town. Night at the hotel.

DAY 7 : HANOI / HOA BINH / HANOI

Departure to Hoa Binh through fascinating landscapes: cassava fields, tea plantations, rice fields…  Arrival at destination, and installation in a wooden house on stilts of the Muong ethnic group. Bike ride or walk in Muong villages to explore their environment and their daily life. Lunch with the host family.
Walk around the surroundings of the village in stunning sceneries. Road back to Hanoi.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Night at hotel.

DAY 8 : HANOI flight YOUR CITY

Visit of the temple of Literature. Lunch in a local restaurant. Transfer to the airport for your return flight, registration formalities and boarding. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 9 : YOUR CITY

LAOS CRUISING TRIP – 06 DAYS / 04 NIGHTS (LA-CR03)

The nature of Laos is incredible: you will see the magnificent Tad Fan and PhaPheng Waterfalls, you will experience a nice cruise on the Mekong Delta with a stop to the preserved Khone Island and the cultural sites such as temples and pagodas.

DAY 1 : YOUR CITY flight PAKSE

Departure at your own expense from the airport of your choice; Registration and formalities for the flight to Pakse. Dinner and night on board.

DAY 2 : PAKSE

At your arrival to Pakse airport you wil be welcomed by your guide and drived to Tad Lo in Bolaven Plateau via the road known as “Coffee Route“. Lunch on the road.
After the lunch, back on the road, stop in Tad Fan falls and visit surrounding villages populated by minority ethnic group. Breathtaking landscapes and unusual encounters with the locals. Back to Pakse.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Night at hotel.

DAY 3 : PAKSE / KHONE ISLAND

Travel through Route 13 to the historically significant PhaPheng waterfallsin order to explore the “Niagara of the East”.  You will be driven to the Nakasang pier to board a small wooden boat, which will take you to Don Khone Island for lunch at local restaurant on the banks of the river.
Visit the old French railway, the French colonial house and walk across the bridge that links Khone and Det Islands. After this fascinating glimpse into the not so distant past, your small wooden boat continues cruising among the 4,000 Islands to the Vat-Phou boat at Ban Dong Veuthong in Don Khong Island. At 17:30 pm, check into your cabin while the boat sets off.
Enjoy a dinner onboard as the sun is setting.  We will dock riverside for the night.

DAY 4 : KHONE ISLAND / OUM MUONG TEMPLE

Breakfast is on board the Vat Phou boat as we set sail to Ban Deua Tia. You will walk through this small village, seeing centuries old traditions still being used. Visit the school and share some time with the local students. The Vat Phou boat then continues to cruise north on the Mekong, past the island of Don Xai, and many other small islets in the river archipelago. Lunch is on the deck. All meals are included on the Vat Phou Mekong cruise and the galley produces the finest of Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai dishes.
Late afternoon we disembark from the boat to walk through the village of Tomo and the mysterious Oum Muong forest temple, just a few minutes’ walk way.  Dinner is aboard Vat Phou, then you have the rest of the evening to relax and enjoy the silence.

DAY 5 : OUM MUONG TEMPLE / PAKSE

While enjoying breakfast on board, the Vat Phou continues its Mekong cruise to Champassak.
The highlight this morning is the Vat Phou ruins – the majestic pre-Angkorian 10th century temple complex and our boat’s namesake. After your visit of Vat Phou temple, you return to the boat for one last meal as we cruise to our final destination. A long-tail boat will return you to Pakse, arriving around 4.00pm in the afternoon. 
End of the cruise. Transfert to the airport for your return flight.

DAY 6 : YOUR CITY

Breakfast on board. Arrival to your city.

DAY 2 : LUANG PRABANG

Arrival to Luang Prabang airport : welcomed by your English speaking tour-guide and transfered to your hotel. Time at leisure to explore the city.

DAY 3 : LUANG PRABANG

Your visit of Luang Prabang by tuk tuk starts with Wat Xieng Thong temple, whose ornaments, mosaics and stupas are some of the most refined, it holds a majestic Buddha lying in a purely Lao style; continue with the oldest temple in the city: Wat Visoun. 
Then you will visit the Wat Xieng Mouane temple and have a lunch in local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will discover the National Museum which exhibits the famous Pha Bang, a golden statue of Buddha. In late afternoon, walk around the local market with your tour-guide.

DAY 4 : LUANG PRABANG / KUANG SI WATERFALLS

Visit Big Brother Mouse, an opportunity to discover a village and its school who received books, to meet the children and discuss with them about their desire to learn. Departure to Kuang Si, about thirty minutes’ drive from Luang Prabang.
The waterfalls are not very high but are renowned for their beauty and for their environment, part of a national park. On the way, stop at the Talat Phosy market, and visit of several ethnic minority villages : Ban Na Oune, inhabited by Hmong population ; Ban Tha Pane populated by Khmu; and Ban Na Wanand the Lao Loums… Swim in the natural pools of Kuang Si, or walk around. Picnic lunch next to the falls.
Road back to Luang Prabang. Climbing Mount Phousi, stroll around the evening market where populations of mountain minorities sell their products: crafts including engraved silver objects or pushed, embroidery, silk and woven pieces.

DAY 5 : LUANG PRABANG / PAKOU

If you desire, possibility to get up early and admire the monks getting alms before dawn : the “Tak Bat”. To live, the Buddhist monk depends on the generosity of the Buddhist people, who observe this ritual respectfully. Morning drive to the village of Ban Don Ngurn. Then, embark on a cruise on the scenic Nam Ou River. You will have the opportunity to discover beautiful karst landscapes and remote villages only reachable by boat. Stop for lunch along the way.
In Ban Vanglae village, where traditional weaving and dyeing are still practiced, warm encounters with the locals : the Lu tribe. Pursuit your journey with the visit of Pak Ou Caves, carved into a cliff in the middle of a lush jungle, they offer a magnificent view of the Mekong, mixing its waters with those of the Nam Ou River. Visit a rice wine distillery on the way back to Luang Prabang.

DAY 6 : LUANG PRABANG / PHONSAVAN

Departure to the province of Xieng Khouang and the city of Phonsavan. The road passes through beautiful mountain scenery and villages of ethnic minorities. Xieng Khouang was the victim of intense US bombing during the Vietnam War, the province is mainly populated by Laos, Khmu and Hmong ethnics.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Along the way, some stops are planned to take pictures. Arrival in Phonsavan in the late afternoon. Installation at the hotel.

DAY 7 : PHONSAVAN / PLAIN OF JARS / PHONSAVAN

After visiting the Central Market of Phonsavan, transfer to the south of the city to visit the Plain of Jars, the origin and function of this site remain unknown but several hundred sandstone jars are exposed on the ground since the 1st century BC. J-C. Lunch during the visit.
Continue the exploration in the afternoon to Muang Khoun, the former capital in ruins, about 40 km from Phonsavan. Return to the hotel late afternoon.

DAY 8 : PHONSAVAN / VANG VIENG

Road to Vang Vieng, through the most picturesque, wild and mysterious scenery of all Asia. Lunch on the road.
Arrival in Vang Vieng, a small town on a bend of the Nam Song River. Dominated by an imposing limestone massif pierced with caves, it’s a place covered with jungle and bushes, in an area known for its caves, waterfalls and limestone cliffs. Check-in at the hotel and boat tour on the Nam Song River.

DAY 9 : VANG VIENG

The morning is dedicated to the visit of Tham Chang cave, the most famous of the area, then a hike to the villages of Tai Deang and Souay, populated by ethnic minorities.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Afternoon at leisure. Option biking, kayaking, river descent in giant buoy, caving.

DAY 10 : VANG VIENG / VIENTIANE

Departure towards Vientiane via a charming mountain road. Arrival and lunch in a local restaurant.
On the afternoon, visit the most remarkable monuments of the Laotian capital: Wat SisaketWat Phra Keo Ho Museum built on the model of a former royal temple, home to various Laotian and Khmer religious art; Wat That Luang, religious monument which has a great importance in Laos, residence of the supreme leader of the Lao Buddhism. Visit the Arc de Triomphe and Victory Gate before returning to the hotel.

DAY 11 : VIENTIANE Flight YOUR CITY

DAY 5 : LUANG PRABANG Flight VIENTIANE

Walk around in the local market full of regional products and visit the former Royal Palace. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane. Arrival in the Laotian capital, transfer to the hotel. Lunch at a local restaurant.
You will visit “The That Luang Stupa”: it was erected in 1566 by the king Setthathirat on an oldest stupa. Both sanctuary and national emblem of the city, it is a great golden stupa with three square terraces. At the end of the day, stroll along the Mekong to watch the beautiful sunset.

DAY 6 : VIENTIANE

Half day dedicated to a city tour and its temples : Wat SisaketWat Phrakeo and Wat Thadluang all as beautiful as each other. Following by the visit of the Patu Xay Triumphal arch which is the symbol of the city. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive to the famous Buddha Park and its many statues, in particular an impressive reclining Buddha.
Back to Vientiane and dinner in a restaurant in town. Night at the hotel.

DAY 7 : VIENTIANE Flight to PAKSE / TAD LO / PAKSE

Transfer to the airport and flight to Pakse. Welcome by your guide and drive to Tad Lo in Bolaven Plateau via the road known as “Coffee Route”, coffee culture is very common in Bolaven Plateau where the climate is appropriate.Lunch on the road. 
After lunch, back on the road, stop in Tad Fan falls and visit surrounding villages populated by minority ethnic group. Breathtaking landscapes and unusual encounters with the locals. Back to Pakse.

DAY 8 : PAKSE / CHAMPASACK / KHONG ISLAND

Road to Champasack to visit the ruins of Wat Phu, Khmer ruins from 11th century and considered as the largest Khmer site after Angkor. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Road to Khong Island with a stop on the way to see the impressive Phasouay waterfalls and Alak and Katou ethnic villages. Arrival to Khong Island on the Mekong and transfer to the hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Night at the hotel.

DAY 9 : KHONG ISLAND / PAKSE

Free time to stroll around the island and why not visit islands nearby, there are about 4,000 islands and islets in this part of the Mekong.
Lunch at your expense.
In the afternoon, way back to Pakse with a stop at Phou Asa for an elephant ride, unforgettable experience.

DAY 10 : PAKSE Flight YOUR CITY
