In Myanmar, you will visit Yangon and its colonial architecture, Bagan and its mysterious forest of temples, Mandalay and its historical heritage, the villages and countryside of Kalaw, the Pa-Oh Indein village and finally the Inle Lake and its unique local life.

What will you do during your trip?
During the trip, you will have the opportunity to taste local delicacies. You will visit many historical and cultural sites, mostly pagodas, temples and monasteries. You will enjoy to discover the local markets and the Inle Lake population who will share its culture. You will be amazed by the mountain sceneries during our trip from Bagan to Kalaw. Eventually, you will get on board to a nice ship on the lake.

At the airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel.
You will discover the city, where colonial buildings and charming alleys are mingled. You will go between food stalls and small used books shops to discover the Emmanuel Baptist Church built in 1830 or the Sulepagoda, where you can consult one of the many “fortune tellers” in the shade of the trees.
You will pass through the lively districts of Chinatown and Little Indiabefore stopping at the Sri Kali temple, the most colorful of Hindu temples in Yangon.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay. Arrival, welcome by your guide and transfer to the city.
The visit of Amarapura begins with the Mahagandayon monastery, which houses more than a thousand young monks. Then, you will enjoy the legendary U Bein Bridge, the longest teak deck in the world, built in 1782. Enjoy the special atmosphere at sunset.

You will begin the day with the visit of Mahamuni and Kuthoda Pagodas, the latter houses “the world’s largest book” and is known for its 729 marble slabs, before leaving for the imposing Shwenandaw Monastery known as the “Golden Monastery” and famous for its wooden sculptures. You will stop at a monastery to exchange with the young monks who study English and who do not often have the opportunity to practice with strangers. In the afternoon, you will be driven to Yankin Hill to enjoy a panoramic view of the city at sunset, before going back down to the daily chanting of the monks, a true spiritual experience.

  • During the visit of the monastery, behave with respect;
  • It is forbidden to drink alcohol and smoke within the confines of the monasteries.

In the morning, you will discover life on the banks and visit a local market before being transferred to Paleik where you will take part in a special ritual in the snake temple. You will join the local pilgrims to bathe the pythons, a unique ceremony.
Drive to Bagan, through beautiful landscapes.

Discover the temple of Ananda and participate in a Buddhist ceremony; make the offerings to the monks who give you their blessing in return. Departure to the village of Muinkaba for a meeting with local craftsmen in one of the most beautiful lacquer workshops of the country before visiting Gu Byaukgyi temple and magnificent mural paintings.
You will get on board of a carriage which will bring you between the temples, visit of the highest temple in the Thatbyinnyu region, as well as Dhammayangyi and finally the temple of Sulamani at sunset time …

Road to Kalaw, a 6 hour journey across small mountain roads along local villages and countryside. Many stops along the way to capture the mind-blowing sceneries. Arrival to Kalaw in the afternoon and time at leisure to stroll in the charming little mountain town.

Start the day with a short tour of the local market before heading to the village of Nyaung Shwe, gateway to Inle Lake, by train. Boat trip to reach and visit the main sites of Inle Lake through several villages.
Visit the Nga Chaung Hpe Monastery with its collection of ancient Buddha statues and the main sanctuary of the lake: Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, which houses five sacred images of Buddha, covered with gold leaf. Discover the different trades of Inle by visiting the village of Inpawkhone known for its weaving of lotus fibers, its workshop of cheroots (Burmese cigars) and its workshop of silver.

After breakfast, you will visit the lake market and then, a one-hour trip will take you to Pa-Oh Indein village. Stroll through the village before you begin your ascent to the top of the hill. The Indein Pagoda complex is one of the lake’s most impressive sites, consisting of a hundred stupas covered with moss and greenery.
During the return trip, you can stop at Inthar Heritage House a not-for-profit organisation that preserves the cultural and natural wealth of the Inle region.

DAY 10 : INLE flight YANGON

Transfer from Heho’s airport to your flight to Yangon. You will visit the local market as well as many small pagodas and temples, before returning to Yangon and discover the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda and the Royal Lake.
From the shore, admire the Karaweik Palace before joining the legendary Shwedagon Pagoda.
At nightfall, in Chinatown, visit Khen Hock Keong temple and its magnificent dragons statues before discovering the night market and its sellers of fruits and vegetables of all kinds.
Lunch and diner at leisure. Night in Yangon.


Unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye to one of the most enchanting countries in the world…
Transfer to the airport and flight to Yangon.
Depending on the time of your return flight, you will have the opportunity to explore the Bogyoke market, to buy your last souvenirs and stroll through the animated aisles.
Transfer to Yangon International Airport for the return flight. Lunch at your expense.
