In Myanmar, you will visit Yangon and its colonial architecture, Bagan and its mysterious forest of temples, Mandalay and its historical heritage, Sagain and its 600 pagodas and monasteries of ivory hill, the caves and the paper umbrella workshops of Pindaya, the villages to meet the ethnic minorities, the Pa-Oh Indein village and finally the Inle Lake and its unique local life.

During the trip, you will have the opportunity to taste local delicacies. You will visit many historical and cultural sites, mostly pagodas, temples and monasteries as well as natural sites such as caves and countryside. And you will walk from a village to another to discover the way of life of the inhabitants and ethnic minorities. You will enjoy to discover the local markets and the Inle Lake population who will share its culture. Eventually, you will get on board to a nice ship on the lake.

After visiting the Nyaung Oo Market and the famous Shwezigon Pagoda, take the dusty roads and shady paths lined with temples and monasteries to discover the villages and their inhabitants. Walk in the site of Bagan to discover its multiple temples and enjoy the view.

Embark on the Irrawaddy River from Bagan to Mandalay, relax on the deck and enjoy the Burmese scenery along the river.

Next step: Amarapura, the penultimate royal capital of Burma. Your visit will begin with the Mahagandayon monastery, home to more than a thousand young monks, then the legendary U Bein bridge, the longest teak bridge in the world built in 1782. Enjoy the special atmosphere at sunset…

Start the day with a walk in the big market, close to the city centre, stroll, stop for a cup of burman milk tea in a stall. You will cross the bridge to discover Sagaing and its hill of 600 pagodas and monasteries of ivory.
Visit the Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin, U Min Thone Sae and Shin Nan Pin Gyaing pagodas before heading towards the Sagaing market.
On the way to Ava, stop in a village of potters, then crossing by ferry to reach a monastery famous for its wooden sculptures: Bagaya. Finally, discover the Nanmyint tower, the remains of the ancient palace and the palace of Maha Augmye Bonzan.

Transfer to Mandalay airport for your flight to Heho.
Drive to the caves of Pindaya before visiting the pagodas of Shwe U Min. You will also have the chance to discover a local workshop and its traditional techniques for making red paper umbrellas.

Walk through spectacular tea plantations to the village of Htut Ni to meet members of the Danu ethnic group. On the way, stop at the village See Kya,located in a thick forest to be welcomed and lunch with a family. Stop at another village called Yazakyi for a warm encounter with members of the Palaung community.
Arrival at Taung Myint Gyi where you will spend an unforgettable night in the monastery.

Walk to the village of Ya Gyi followed by a slight descent towards Pwe Pyat, you will be amazed by the beauty of the landscapes. Your trek will end at Pwe Pyat village before being transferred to Nyaung Shwe, gateway to Inle Lake (32 km – 1 hour drive).

Visit the Shweyanpyay Teak Monastery. Boat trip to reach and visit the main sites of Inle Lake, on the way, you will pass through several villages along Intha Lake.

After breakfast, you will visit the lake’s market. Excursion on Lake Intha to observe their amazing floating gardens and the unique style of the Inle fishermen who row standing with only one leg.
Visit the Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery and its collection of Buddha statues, as well as the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. Discover the varied crafts of Inle, visit the village of Inpawkhone known for its weaving lotus fibers, its workshop of cheroots (Burmese cigars) and its workshop of silver.

After breakfast, you will visit the lake’s market and then, a one-hour trip will take you to Pa-Oh Indein village. Stroll through the village before you begin your ascent to the top of the hill. The Indein Pagoda complex is one of the lake’s most impressive sites, consisting of a hundred stupas covered with moss and greenery.
During the return trip, you can stop at Inthar Heritage House a not-for-profit organisation that preserves the cultural and natural wealth of the Inle region.

Transfer towards Heho airport for your flight towards Yangon.
Walk on the Mahanbandola Street and discover the city, where colonial buildings and charming alleys are mingled. You will go between food stalls and small used books shops to discover the Emmanuel Baptist Churchbuilt in 1830 or the Sule pagoda, where you can consult one of the many “fortune tellers” in the shade of the trees.
You will pass through the lively districts of Chinatown and Little India before stopping at the Sri Kali temple, the most colorful of Hindu temples in Yangon.

Transfer towards Yangon international airport without tour-guide. Check-in and boarding for your return flight.
